About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Working on my PhD in East Asian History and hope to get something published in the future
ABOUT ME
I call myself an Asianist and I'm working hard to live up to the title
I'm a 22-year-old PhD student in the United States who is in love with history and cultures. I'm particularly fascinated by East Asian Cultures- something that could be attributed mostly to my academic work but also due to a genuine interest in the area.
I love traveling and I have always planned to do a lot of travels. I enjoy learning about and respect people's cultures. I'm always curious about the cultures in which ones grow up and its impacts their lives. I do think that that makes us human different and interesting. I'm eager to learn new things and accept all the challenges.
I love my little Ukulele and I can play simple songs just to whirl away the everyday stresses.
PHILOSOPHY
Always have fun wherever I go, whatever I do. Smiling even in the worst situations. I wander around when I'm stressful and I come back feeling happier than ever before. Pick up my ukulele and life has generally become much better. Reading is also my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I'm away from home and studying in a foreign country, I admit it would be hard to do couching (But I would love to do it once I'm settled down). For the time being, as an ardent surfer, I would love to share with my couchers about my cultures and my knowledge of East Asia. I have a pretty interesting life at college as well so I wouldn't mind telling my host about how it would be like to be in an all-male college in the United States.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a new member so I'm still trying to expand this experience

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: History and if you don't find it particularly boring and overwhelming I can talk a bit about philosophy and about the project I'm working on. I don't mind expressing my points of view and it'd be great if we can have an exchange of ideas. I'm also very particular about my books so if you need recommendations, I'm always willing to share.
I'm not an excellent Ukulele players. I don't think I'm even good but I don't really care as long as I have fun with myself. I can teach you simple chords with it. I love the instrument as much as I love myself.
Other than that, I can talk endlessly about books, musics, about trends and what is going on in certain part of the world. I like discussing cultures and other issues. Most importantly, I can tell you about my country and some stories about it.
I'm willing to learn about the area if you are a local. If not, I'm willing to hear your stories of living there too.
