Overview
About Me
Haven't travelled as much as I'd like, so I guess I'm trying to make up for lost time. I think my best experiences (and conversations) have always happened on an international backdrop, so I'm just looking for more of that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This concept first appealed to me years ago, but I was always a little bit timid about staying in a stranger's home. Questions like, "Would I be an imposition?" or "Would I get along with the person?" or "Would I be placed into a uncomfortable position?" always swam around in my sea of thought.
I've finally reached a point in my life where that I've, for the most part, quelled that insecurity, and I'm eager to explore the world and all that it has to offer. I imagine that couchsurfing affords an experience that just can't bought; it requires a great deal of curiosity, faith, and trust that the experience will be rewarding. I'm going into it with no expectations and looking forward to the stories that I'll come across along the way.
Interests
Delicious food, engaging and stimulating conversations, laughter. Trying new outdoor activities. Visiting culturally significant venues. I think that's a good start.

Music, Movies, and Books
I gravitate towards jazz, soul, and R&B, but really any type of music that has rhythm, soul, and life in it has a place in my life. Currently listening to Ray Lamontagne, Adele, John Legend, John Coltrane, and Meghan Trainor.
Some movies I've enjoyed:
L'Auberge Espagnole (French)
Lost in Translation (English w/ some sprinkles of Japanese)
Cyborg She (Japanese)
The Matrix (English)
Cloud Atlas (multiple; but primarily English
If You Are the One (Mandarin Chinese)
Like Sunday, Like Rain (English)
In terms of books, for fiction, Murakami is my spirit animal. I also enjoy books about food (Michael Pollan is a genius).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
That's hard-- but if I were to choose one, it would have to be holding a newborn baby in a hospital in Nicaragua.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An enthusiasm and an open ear for their stories, a professional therapeutic massage (my source of income in the states), and smiles and laughter
