CURRENT MISSION

Live, learn, love, laugh.

ABOUT ME

I married an amazing man called Bernard who I have introduced to couch surfing. He is a crop and sheep farmer near the mouth of the Rakaia river (Cantebury, NZ). That's where we live and its a long way from Christchurch. We have a son called Mathew.

Our son Mathew loves people and company and children. He loves maps and travelling and a lot of other activities. expert at playing.

Bernard is right into music and plays the guitar and various other similar instruments.

I love to travel and somehow have managed to do some despite never having much money (that might be why actually).

I love the outdoors (hiking, kayaking, caving, horseriding...)and talking to people.

I like to read, and play music and would like to be able to fly.

I'm Catholic and go to church regularly.

PHILOSOPHY

To find yourself you have to give yourself away.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By hosting and surfing - I love meeting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Excellent. I've had lots of positive experiences meeting couchsurfers. I've met some great people. The only negative experience I've had is receiving no replies to requests. It makes it hard to plan.

Interests

Where to begin...
Traveling, reading (all sorts), conversations and people. Other cultures interest me. I love music and the outdoors, gardening, creatrive/arty stuff like drawing, writing, taking photos, making stuff and sewing and.... There´s not enough time for everything! =(

Music, Movies, and Books

Bernard likes classic rock, guitars and other similar instruments . He likes Sci-fi movies and good food.

I don't watch a lot of movies these days - too busy doing other things.

Music - don´t know much about it but I do like a variety.
a little pop (Jason Mraz, Kolby Callais) , a bit more rock but not too heavy (Matchbox 20, Life house, Queen, U2, Bon Jovi...) Older stuff (Cliff Richard, Abba, Carpenters,Billy Joel, Eagles...)
A little classical (Vivaldi, Bach and other well known composers).

I read all sorts (but don´t like soppy books):

Kite Runner,
WW2 and WW1 novels and biographies.
Fantasy books like JRR Tolkien books and David Eddings;
Classics ie A Tail of 2 Cities, Little Dorrit, Lorna Doone...;
Angela´s Ashes (After I did the tour in Limerick)
Numerous random books from the 2nd hand shop.

Lots of 'Theology of the Body' books - fantastic!
'Spirit of the Liturgy,' 'The Love that Satisfies.'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Get married.

Teach, Learn, Share

'The opposite of love is not hate, but using.'

When you use someone you are reducing them to the level of an object (like a piece of furniture). People are more than objects and should not be used but, unfortunately, it can be easy to do.(Theology of the body).

Is that too deep?

What I Can Share with Hosts
