About Me

CURRENT MISSION

see new places, meet new people, live cheap, enjoy...

ABOUT ME

I'd say up until now I have lived a pretty fun life. My pops was a traveling man so we moved around a fair amount. Since the end of my publicly funded K-12 years I have been stir crazy. I graduated but it took me five colleges to do so. not bad grades, I just like new places. I did a year in Japan, visited my sis in Korea and spent a couple of weeks in Thailand. Those three events forever whet the appetite for travel...so for now I'm ready to go, wherever.

I'll be traveling the European states for the next two months and hope to meet up with some kindred spirits. I'm very laid back and don't really mind stretching out the moment for a little stress come departure day.

PHILOSOPHY

Life expectancy gets greater every year...at 65 would you want to retire with nothing to look back on or enjoy your youth and work out the difference later.

I get work, save the moneys and travel

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been living on friends' couches or floors for a while now. I tried a lease on an apartment...lasted about two months. found a sub-letter and then, back to a couch. the minimal, travel ready, lifestyle suits me. Summer 08 I stayed with some friends that were hosting three other csers. It was fun because we were all holed up in a shoebox in the heart of Tokyo, but that didn't seem to matter. If you wanted to group venture you could, but if not you'd do a solo mission. That's the joy of being with CSers, no hard feelings if you can't meet up but instant connection if you do manage it.

Interests

cooking, dark beers, internet comics, craigslist best-of, saving pennies, Japan, KARAOKE, walking, using public transport. I love to hear of others' travels and enjoy a good retelling of my own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A Billy Joel themed bar at the base of Mt. Fuji named Manhattan's. The bartender played a bit coy at first. But after we showed that we actually appreciated what he'd done with his bar he gave a concert I doubt Joel himself could top.
