ABOUT ME

I am currently living in Alexandria, VA. We relocated here after returning home from the Peace Corps where my husband and I lived in Bohicon, Benin working as volunteers. We can't host at the moment since we're adjusting to life with a newborn, but hope to host soon!

We love to do outdoors sports like hiking, scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. I last lived in San Diego before moving to Africa but I have lived in Central and Northern California as well. We traveled for 5 months throughout SE Asia after volunteering after our time in the Peace Corps and had a phenomenal experience! I love a good adventure and like to have fun while still sightseeing.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life without regrets and make your life into something that people can be inspired by. We only get one shot in this life; let's do it right and enjoy ourselves!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was 24, I spent a month traveling around Italy alone and met some really awesome people. I think Couch Surfing is taking it to the next level and I can't wait to start using it. My husband and I also couch surfed all through SE Asia and were welcomed with open arms by warm and inviting hosts. I can also help anyone who needs tips on traveling through Benin or any other place we've been.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a wonderful couple from Norway in April 2011 and that was my first solid experience and then a very friendly guy from Japan who has been traveling the world for years! Since then, my husband and I were surfers in Greece and Italy throughout a month of traveling during vacation and had a wonderful experience. I hope to surf and host many people in my near future.

I enjoy reading bibliographies, biographies, and anything else I can get some insight or knowledge out of. I love any kind of movie except scary ones. I don't do well with those. I enjoy most types of music but am rarely "up" on what's new and who's new, so any suggestions on groups or people I should check out, I would happily take. I am not a picky person and have learned to enjoy everything in life, good or bad.

Living in West Africa with the Peace Corps brings something amazing to my door step on a regular basis. I do not know where to begin. Outside of my Peace Corps experience, by far, hiking the Inca trail for 4 days to Machu Picchu was incredible and better than MP itself.

If anyone needs any insight on any place that I've visited or plan on visiting, I'd be happy to share! Also, if you have a wealth of information on places where I plan on going, I'm all ears! I love hearing about other's input on where to eat/sleep/drink because I don't like going down the tourist path. I like authentic places where the locals go.
