About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working on getting my Bachelor in Medical Sciences and still having enough time to run off to some corner of the globe whenever I can. :)

My next trip is a short one. (squeezing it into a school reading break) I'll be heading to London in February.

ABOUT ME

Just a west-coast kid trying to see and experience as much as she possibly can.

I did a lot of traveling after high school. Spent over five years bouncing around the globe. Now I'm back in my home town, going to school and getting itchy feet.

PHILOSOPHY

I figure if you keep yourself challenged and strive to better yourself in any way, you're definitely on the right track. The day you loose the desire move forward is the day you need to take a good strong look at your priorities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just surfing right now, but as soon as I have a couch of my own I will welcome surfers with open arms! The people that I've surfed with so far have been amazing, I just hope I can be as great a host when the time comes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only ever truly great experiences. I first couch surfed around western Europe back in 2009 for three months. Not only were my hosts friendly and interesting but a few of them became close friends and I returned more then once just for extra visits. I also did a little couch surfing in Australia a few years ago, also only ever fun, exciting hosts.

I always rave about couch surfing to anyone who has never heard of it. People sometimes tend to think it is a bit strange but there is something about kindness from a total stranger that makes this whole experience incredibly wonderful and unique.

Interests

Climbing mountains, camping, traveling by land, discovering something new, biology, meeting new friends, making pasta, eating pasta, putting new pins in my world map, wandering museums, spending time near the ocean, reading..... this list could go on for awhile.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a total sucker for historical fiction novels and I love a good sci-fi space flick.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing I have ever done was making the decision to go on my very first trip after graduating high school. It was only supposed to be a quick token "Euro Trip" before buckling down for university. As it turned out it led to moving abroad, working as anything from a bartender in Greece to a mango picker northern Australia. I've been lucky enough to float down rivers in Asia and climb volcanoes in South America, taking that first step was the best thing I ever could have done.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always eat dessert. First.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring a great attitude to my hosts couches plus lots of stories and good conversation! I always like to be able to spend some times with my hosts if they are not too busy. Sharing a meal or going out for some drinks is always a must :)
