Music, Movies, and Books

-Music-
I am generally fine with most genres but would tend to avoid loud, heavy music. I'm not as well-versed in English music as most people; I'm more into C-pop (Mayday, Hebe, Della, Rainie Yang, Fish Leong, JJ Lin, Wang Leehom, Jay Chou, Jam Hsiao and many more) though I find myself being less and less able to keep abreast of developments in the scene. Many anime and J-pop songs that I've heard from, well, animes and dramas are great too! Besides, I also love listening to piano instrumentals and piano versions of songs, and I find them especially great for studying! (One of the biggest regret in my life is that I stopped learning piano.)

-Movies-
I wasn't so much into movies compared to most people but after taking a certain module in university I've gained newfound appreciation for films as a medium of art, through which I either discover or better appreciate classics such as Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, etc and even cult films like Mr. Nobody. I've always enjoyed sci-fi (Interstellar, The Matrix, The Martian) and I'm a big fan of Christopher Nolan's works (Inception, The Prestige, Memento though I've yet to watch The Dark Night Trilogy). I also love watching videos that discuss about the philosophies behind the films (Wisecrack is a really great YouTube channel that does this) and would certainly enjoy having such conversations! Still, I do enjoy the suspense of mystery movies and thrill provided by action movies from time to time too.

-Anime/shows-
I don't watch a lot of anime, but several of those that I do watch I absolutely LOVE them: Attack on Titan, Angel Beats, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Death Note and would definitely recommend them to anyone, even non-anime watchers! I used to watch a lot of Taiwanese drama and talk shows back in high school, but no longer now. I've watched bits and pieces of popular TV series like HIMYM, Sherlock, Daredevil etc. mostly when my friends are watching, but I've never found the drive to watch the whole series myself. That said, I'm simply a big fan of Rick and Morty, and I've watched the show countless times over.
Currently binge-watching: Charlotte (anime)

-Books-
Being brought up with books instead of toys for the most part, I enjoy reading but sadly it's becoming more of a luxury, though admittedly I myself have been increasingly choosing to spend my time on social media or watching stuff instead. Authors like JK Rowling, Enid Blyton, and Roald Dahl accompanied me throughout my childhood, and growing up I like to read Jodi Picoult, Jeffrey Archer, Dan Brown, Haruki Murakami etc., and am proud to say that I've completed all of Jin Yong's novels. Since entering university, I've mostly been reading research papers and textbooks instead *sighs*.

So many things to watch, read, and learn but so little time - I'll never complain of boredom as long as I have an Internet connection!
