About Me
Hello friends of the sun!
My name is Hyebon, 혜본 in Korean and I'm backpacking overland from Germany to Korea this year (through Eastern Europe/the Balkans, the Caucasus, Turkey, Central Asia and China). I hope to see a little of the world somehow, gain confidence and meet new people. I recently graduated from high school in Dortmund, Germany.
I like travelling, hitchhiking (and wandering around local supermarkets, it's so interesting)...I stopped drinking alcohol and smoking a while ago. I'm not a very loud person and quite introverted, but I love conversations that scratch much deeper below the surface. And having fun, breaking out of my shell.
I'm not a picky person, I can happily sleep on the floor, balcony, and so on.
Here's my public Instagram account: @hominidhebs (This is where I post some drawings I made). My private one is @hyebbie_99)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new and diverse people and have new and interesting experiences, to find myself in "daily life" in different places, to save money (I don't have very much), to sleep (I like sleeping). I want to believe in the good in people, and I've been able to find it so many times here.
Interests
Drawing, writing, and learning languages (please teach me your language). I wanted to go into art or linguistics but since working for a time at a community of people with disabilities, my perspective has changed somewhat. Cartwheels, yoga, divination methods. Paganism and pre-Christian beliefs.
Otherwise, I'm very interested organic farming and folk culture from music and dance to stories. So please teach me the traditional dances of your country! I have this dream of living in an old castle in the countryside with like-minded people and farming the surrounding land.
I would like to transfer my drawing into tattoos sometime.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Lord of the Rings, the Silmarillion, Tolkien. The Prophet (Khalil Ghibran). Agatha Christie's Poirot. Faust and Steppenwolf changed my life while I was in school.
I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, 60s and 70s rock, Britfolk, folk music from various countries and cultures, North Korean music, reggae, medieval or renaissance music especially. I play clarinet, some saxophone and recorder.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For me personally: I graduated from high school after struggling a lot and almost dropping out. Walked Hadrian's Wall.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn anything my host is willing share with me! Also, it would be amazing to play recorder together with someone else. Right now I'm trying to gain more knowledge on topics like social justice and political awareness. I want to learn to play D&D.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking, cleaning. I don't have many specific cool skills I but I could maybe teach you a bit of German or Korean? A little bit of Tarot (novice)
