About Me

I’m a college student currently living in the US. One of th things that I found fascinating here is the diversity regarding culture, religion, race, etc. I look forward to meeting with more people around the world, who have lived a way different life from me. To hang out with those people always makes me excited.

I’m open minded and optimistic:)
To put an episode, once I came back to the US after a winter break, I forgot to take the I-20 document with me(what an idiot haha.) At the airport in Korea I copied the document after keeping in touch with the college office, but it was not still guaranteed that I would not be rejected at the customer center in the US. It was just one or two days before the new term started. In that moment, however, I took it as a chance to travel to different places until I can get the original document from the college. That was why I could let go of the anxiety while I was in the flight.
This story makes me sound a bit stupid, that’s not what I meant in the firat place though haha.
The point is that when something has happened I try to see the positive side of it. This is one of my philosophy! Nothing has only a single side; everything is multi-faceted, including human beings, of course. Then it’s up to me to decide which side I would see from that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Once I heard about Couchsurfing, I had doubts as to this community. Because it sounds so ideal and unrealistic. The community where people who love travelling share their rooms with open mind and exchange their kindness and experience rather than money. I have been looking for this kind of place. I would love to share my stories about travelling with many people, which would be much more precious time than anything for sure!

Interests

I have always been interested in writing, and want to be a writer in the future. I once wrote a few short novels. I started thinking of opening up my blog lately to share the stories that I had during travelling. I had been through lots of spectacular things during the trip, which I think are worth to share. It would be one of the amazing things that I’ve done in my life if I start doing the blog stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the ‘before’ series movies: before sunrise, before sunset, before midnight. These movies became the motivators for me to decide to travel around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling to Europe by myself over the spring break. It doesn’t sound special, but for me it was a life-changing moment. I learned a lot from the trip, and I believed that my haedspace has completely changed since that moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I did tutoring to middle&high school students for about 2 years. I taught them English, and how to read and analyze books. It was a great time during which I could be reminded of what I learned for the past years and learn how to articulate ideas clearly so that it could be easily understood.
