About Me

Hello! I'm Hyo-jeong from South Korea. I'm an Ajou university student in Korea, but currently I am an exchange student in Utrecht University for 2016-2017. So I am living in the Netherlands now.

I am interested in trying new things and exploring all around the world. Since I have traveled and lived in Europe, I want to meet new people and experience the local culture. I am a good listener. At the same time I can tell how much crazy the life in Korea can be. I want to share my experience with you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I first heard about CS, I could help imaging how fascinate that might be. Communicating and interacting with local people must be the chance for better understanding the culture of the city.

Through traveling, I realized that one of the best way to enjoy the travel is finding friends who you can share your feelings with. I think that is why I remember every single moment at the cities where I did couchsurfing. I cannot forget the moment I've shared the experience with hosts, my friends.

Interests

I enjoy eating and also cooking many kinds of food. One of the goal during travel is tasting as much as various foods. (One of my hobby is baking, but I can cook Italian dishes and definitely Korean dishes!)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to watch movies with any genre. Recently, I saw "The Truman Show". When I have some time to spare, I like to watch classic, great movies. And I sometimes read some new novels like "A man called Ove".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before my semester begin, I travel all around the Europe for 40 days and those period is one of the most memorable time in my life. I've met some new people and gone to beautiful places. And importantly, it was great chance to think about myself.

One of the most memorable thing I have done in Korea is volunteering work at my university for exchange and graduate students who need help for adjusting their campus life in Korea. It was pleasure for me to introduce beautiful place in Korea. Also, it was a great opportunity to get to know each other and to be more open-minded person. Although I'm not good at speaking English fluently, by this chance I realized there can be great experience and relationships.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn the language that local people use. I think learning their language is the one way to respect the country. Just a few words would be nice.

And I like to share some food. Maybe I can cook Korean dishes there. If it's okay, it will be nice to share foods. (Also, I can teach you how to cook. It will be easy!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I cannot say that I got much to share, but I really want to share experience, feelings, foods and cultures that I've got. I bet this experience will be something special for the host, too.
