ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Jess. I'm British/Australian and am based in Glasgow, but am often found in Sudan/South Sudan (or further afield), doing various work-related things. I sometimes study and write novels and work for governments. I love travel with a sick, obsessive love.

Surfed:
Celine (Tangier, Morocco): 19-21/3/09
Katherine and Derek (Tripoli, Libya): March 2010
Nadia (Nouakchott, Mauritania): January 2012
Matt and Anita (Bissau, Guinea-Bissau): February 2012

Hosted in Khartoum:
Pete (UK) - 20-24/9/09
Christoph (Austria) and Luke (UK) - 2-5/10/09
Christian (Austria/Norway) - 17-27/10/09 (not on CS)
Lea and Felix (Germany) - 29/10/09 - 1/11/09 and January 2010
Pieter (Belgium) - 12-13/11/09
Graham - 17-18/11/09
Jonas (Denmark) - 17-22/11/09
Uros, Marko and Lazar (Serbia) - December 2009 - January 2010
Juan (Spain) - January 2010
Andreea (Romania) - January 2010

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I can, i.e. when I have a fairly stable living situation with kindly-disposed flatmates. I surf when I manage to plan far enough ahead to organise it! I've also met a few CSers while travelling and they have been universally awesome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only ever surfed a few times, but when I was living in Khartoum I really enjoyed hosting various CouchSurfers who passed through - it's a great way to meet new people, and it gives me an excuse to do fun touristy things.

I travel a lot (for work and for fun) so I can't guarantee my availability for hosting, but it's worth a try!

Interests

Reading, travelling and writing are my three favourite things. I try to combine them as much as possible. I also love cycling, hiking, swimming and (as of fairly recently) diving; music, talking to people - y'know, all the sorts of things that everyone loves. Because those things are great.
