I am an engineer at heart. I love to invent, tinker and make. I also love traveling. In less than a week I am off on a solo bike tour across southeast Asia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Minneapolis, MN one night and hopped on a passing freight train. I rode the train for 4 hours through the night. The whole time I was riding on the top deck of a tanker car. At dawn the train was paralleling a river and I got to watch the sunrise over the Wisconsin horizon. Absolutely amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I just outfitted both of my pairs of traveling pants with a hidden pocket inside. I sewed a flap of fabric on the inside front pants pocket. This is large enough to hold my passport and some emergency cash. If I get shaken down for all of my belongings, the assailant hopefully will not find this.
