Iain: I’m a researcher at Lancaster University, studying shared travel in various forms (blablacar, hitching, etc.). Most of my time is spent between Lancaster and Edinburgh.

I live with Dan who is a down to earth, free loving kind of guy who loves life.

Dan: I love going on adventures and trying anything and everything. I have a reputation for never taking the easy route, and will go off the beaten track as often as I can. I like to hoop, handstand and dance, which is what I’ll be doing most of the time in our yard.

Went to the Haridwar Kumbh Mela in 2010. We rode in on top of a bus and wandered from ashram to ashram meeting sadhu from all over India. We woke up watching the sunrise over the river, as 10 million Hindu pilgrims set out to bathe in the water. Surreal and sublime to the absolute extreme!

I’m studying energy demand and social change relating to everyday travel, and enjoy hearing about and sharing peoples experiences from around the world! I can also teach beginners the guitar and have some knowledge of willow basket weaving.

Dan: I skateboard and I’m learning hulahoop and acro. I can teach you to handstand and do some moves on both of these things. I’m a qualified massage therapist and can teach you basic movements!

We would like to learn anything you want to teach us!

It depends on my schedule, but the Lake District is always great for a visit, and we can share some knowledge on places to see and things to do in the area. We do a lot of wild
swimming in the summer and can share some beautiful spots closer to home!
