ABOUT ME

I am fun and funny, interesting and interested. Oh, and I am Scottish. That means I have no problem with the weather here in Piter. Believe me, it rains even more in Glasgow.

Am (more than) a bit of a nerd. Like to read a lot and write. On balance more of an introvert than an extrovert, but I am not shy. I enjoy people's company.

Love free-flowing and imaginative conversation. Am a good listener.

I am the one at the party that spends most of the night chatting to people in the kitchen rather than dancing in the front room. Buy I'll definitely have a dance at some point. Am a pretty good mover...once I get going ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to meet locals who can help me discover Piter and the real Russia!

I've been here since January 2016, and just found out I'll be here until at least September 2018, and hopefully a lot longer than that.

Would really like to get to know more people and make this city my home. Oh, and really would like to work on my Russian. Happy to reciprocate with a bit of conversational English :-)

Would also really like to learn how to cook some classic Russian dishes. I am an ok cook, not brilliant, but would like to stretch my skills to making borsch and pelmeni.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not very much so far.

Have never stayed on anyone's couch or had anyone stay at my place. But I might one day. At the moment, I just want to meet up with people in Piter and enjoy what this city has to offer.

Centres d'intérêt

I love running. I am a member of a local running club, here in Piter.

I am (always) in training for marathons! I enter lots of them and then tend not to run them. Haha. But next year (2018), I'll definitely run the White Nights in Piter. Defo.

Travelling, of course, like everyone here. There are so many places I still want to see.

Going into the country, discovering the wilderness in Russia, Finland and the Baltic states.

Going out to bars and restaurants - there are so many good ones here in Piter.

I would really like to discover more about the arts and culture scene here. Especially into checking out live music, opera and contemporary art exhibitions.
