I enjoy long walks, fun runs, hikes, a good coffee, an engaging book (the printed ones), meaningful conversations. I could be socially selective and a bit inclined towards introversion. When I take photos, I am fond of taking shots of anything up close. I love colors but I find duotones powerful. I believe man is a dog's best friend so i try to be friendly whenever I am around one. I could be at home inside a tent in some wilderness.

This year, my renewed interest in long distance running inpired me to take on Malaysia's city streets and countryside trails. I wish I could do a few half marathons, making a few stops on the way to know the people and culture unique to every city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess I wanted to try something that scares me - like meet strangers and connect with people outside of my core friends. And not always being the strong one, like having to ask someone you haven't met before to give you a place to stay for the night. That could be a very humbling experience but can also lead to meaningful friendships and open up opportunitiesfor learning new things.

Interests

Volunteering (like helping build homes, feeding programs, teaching migrant kids english), stock market, music, backpacking, current events, world history.

Lately, i grew a fascination for middle eastern food and culture. And hopefully, someday, I could travel the Silk Road trade route from Asia to Europe.

Books - can't think of any particular favorites but I goalset to read John Medina's Brain Rules, John Ortberg's All the Places to Go...How Will You Know? and one book by Chad Bird this year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finished a 35km climbathon, reaching above 2150 MASL, on an injured right calf while not having fully recovered from a cold (the race happened to be in winter time, trained in Shanghai while it's winter, and went to run in a northern PH mountain in a 'summer time' heat).

I thought it was miraculous to even complete it. 😂😂😂
