About Me
Hello fellow wanderers!
I'm Oleksandr, long-distance hiker and an enthusiastic traveler with an unquenchable thirst for exploration. I joined Couchsurfing to connect with fellow adventurers and experience the world through the eyes of locals. From the bustling streets of urban jungles to the serenity of natural landscapes, I'm constantly seeking new destinations and unique experiences.
I am a writer, so I consider each new journey not only as an adventure but also as an opportunity to find new ideas and inspiration for my books.
In 2022, I walked 4270 kilometers (2600 miles) from Mexico to Canada on the famous Pacific Crest Trail, about which I wrote a book.
In 2023, I set out to explore hiking trails in the Southwest of the United States, as well as the states of Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.
If you have any recommendations, travel tips, or stories to share, I'd love to hear from you! Let's connect, exchange tales of our adventures, and maybe even meet up on the road. The world is vast, and there's so much to explore together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that travel is not just about ticking off landmarks but about immersing oneself in the local culture. I love diving into the local food scene, discovering hidden gems, and connecting with people who share their stories, traditions, and way of life. Couchsurfing allows me to forge meaningful connections and gain authentic insights into the places I visit.

What I Can Share with Hosts
In 2020, when the world was engulfed by the Covid pandemic, I made a radical change in my life by starting to write books and travel the world. I spend most of my time in the wilderness, trekking through mountains, forests, national parks, and protected areas.
I study the local culture, interact with people, and learn and record stories and legends of indigenous populations, incorporating them into my subsequent travel books.
As a guest, I am respectful, open-minded, and always appreciative of the kindness and generosity of my hosts. I value the opportunity to learn from their perspectives and build cross-cultural connections. I approach each Couchsurfing experience with gratitude and a desire to contribute positively to the community.
