ABOUT ME

My name is actually Matt. I am currently a student at FSU in Florida, USA. I am on an exchange in Jönköping, Sweden at Jönköping University School of Engineering.

I have never traveled out of the country before I left this past January. I am very eager to experience as much as I can of the rest of the world before I return home...who knows when a trip like this will happen again?

I grew up playing a lot of sports, mainly tennis. I used to play on the circuit, but then stopped for a while and continued only with high school tennis. I have recently gotten involved in ultimate frisbee and rock climbing.

My experience so far has already led me to a list of books and authors I know I must read before too long. It is hard to have so much to want to read without the time but hopefully I will get there soon enough.

I love dogs. I have a golden retriever back home and miss her a lot.

I love the outdoors. I went to an outdoors camp when I was eleven for a month in North Carolina and ended up falling in love with the Appalachian mountains. Since my hike that year I have returned and hiked a different section with old friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live as easy going as I can. It is difficult for me to let go sometimes and I stress over things that maybe shouldn't cause stress, however I am aware of it and continuously looking to improve myself.

I feel if I am not continuously learning I am not serving my purpose of living as a human being. We are given complex thought and it would be a shame to waste it with only one life to live.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined the network and I am very excited to try it out. I think this community is mainly built off of word of mouth and I will do my best to continue that tradition.

I am not currently available to do any hosting, nor do I think I will be in the near future unless I get my own apartment or house back home...
