About Me
Sorry I'm not verified, $20/month is a bit steep for an unemployed graduate student! I'm at PSU in the Urban and Regional Planning program, married with a fur baby (a cat named Winston). I traveled extensively when I lived abroad for a year in 2010-2011, but since then I've been slogging through school in Portland, hoping to someday earn enough money to travel abroad again!
These days I mostly travel in my own little corner of the world - in summer, my husband and I go on bicycle rides down the Springwater Corridor in Portland, try new food carts, and go to the Oregon Country Faire. I volunteer at my local Farmer's Market most of the year to get a tour of Oregon by taste. In winter, I head over to Multnomah Falls for a fun winter hike to put up Christmas tree ornaments in a little corner of the woods. I'm learning that Oregon has plenty to see, even when I can't afford to go far!
For folks coming to Portland, I'd be happy to tell you all about it, and show you around by bus or bicycle. But as a life-long city-dweller, I don't know how to drive, and we don't own a car! If you come here, you'll understand ;) There are much better ways to get around Portland.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have received the kind generosity of two Couch Surfing hosts, and mostly a beneficiary at the moment. I live in a space that is inhospitable to travelers - I rent and my landlord lives downstairs. I hope to someday have the opportunity to pay it forward when I graduate from college and buy a house, but for now I'm a traveler and a Portland guide!

Hitchhiking and backpacking through Armenia and Karabakh - standing on top of the cave dotted hills of Old Goris in Armenia on my way to Artsakh at sunrise has to have been the most breathtaking thing I've ever seen.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been an English teacher in Georgia and I'm a student in America. I am studying everything I can get my hands on - pick my brain if you'd like! Also: fill it more if you can. I like learning new things :) I might be able to fix your computer.
