About Me
I love to travel and meet new people. If I can combine those things with discovering local cuisine, see live music and art I am very happy. I usually prefer to walk around or rent a bike to get a feel of a new place rather than ticking sights off a list.
My next long trip will go to the Pacific Northwest in July, including Seattle, Portland and Vancouver and Vancouver Island. I'm looking forward to seeing some spectacular wildlife, drinking good beer and coffee and hopefully making new friends.
I've lived with a lot of other people for years and as a guest I am tidy and respectful of your wishes as a host. If you like to hang out and show me your best spots I'm totally up for it, if not, I'll entertain myself :) If you let me I'll cook you some nice veggie food and teach you some weird Swedish words and traditions (there are quite a few).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and make new friends along the way and couchsurfing is such a good way to do that. There is no better way to truly get to know a place than to stay with locals and perhaps get a sneek peak into their everyday life.
My first couchsurfing experience was back in the spring of 2009. Me and my friend Anna decided to go to Spain to do some writing for our journalism class. We wanted to stay in San Sebastian in Basque country and I needed to get in touch with locals for my research so we decided to try councsurfing. We didn't know what to expect but we were lucky enough to find an amazing host. He opened up his home for us, showed us his wonderful city and introduced us to his friends. We originally though we'd stay a couple of days but we ended up staying for a week.
I had actually spent a week in San Sebastian a couple of years earlier, but the CS experience made this stay completely different. I cannot believe the things I missed out on the first time, and I'm happy that I got another chance to see the best parts of the city and Basque culture, a little bit off the beaten path.
I live in a one bedroom apartment with a tiny couch, but I will definitely host couchsurfers if/when I get a bigger place.
