About Me
CURRENT MISSION
free as a bird for life
ABOUT ME
I rather drink tea than coffee, I prefer the bike to the car and I love travelling as much as coming back home again. people usually describe me as a cat-person, but I'd like to think of myself more as a dog-person, although I like either and I have neither ... but actually I would trade every cat and dog for a penguin. If you bring a penguin I would totally clear the fridge for that wonderfully weird creature!
If you don't have a penguin to offer but like delicious food or grab a beer or drink a neat glas of good wine you're also my kind of person!
... I admit, that's not much about myself, but if you want to know more about me, keep on reading my profile or - even better - get to know me in person!
for a living I'm working at an art gallery while studying art history at the university of Vienna.
PHILOSOPHY
be open. stay curious. make mistakes. embrace change. love what you do!
live, learn, laugh, love!
Ever try. Ever fail. No matter.
Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
- Samuel Beckett
Nothing makes the earth seem so spacious as to have friends at a distance; they make the latitudes and longitudes.
- Henry David Thoreau
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed a couple of times and always had a great time with awesome hosts. so I would like to give back the love and share my flat with whoever adventurer happens to knock on my door! that is, if I'm home ... because I try to be out there exploring new (and also not so new) shores as often as possible. so catch me if you can and contact me, if you are in vienna! even to only spend some spare time together and have a nice drink & chat.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's about the gift of sharing and it works wonderfully!
people who generously open their homes to complete strangers are a very special kind of people: interesting, opend minded, open hearted. people one would like to meet. people you would be proud to call friends. although they were all very different all my couchsurfing hosts and guests share these wonderful qualities and I consider myself genuinely lucky to have met them.
Interests
two souls are dwelling in my breast: on the one hand I am very much interested in arts and culture and love spending time in galleries and museums and admiring amazing architecture. and on the other hand I love being face to face with nature: scouting, camping, hiking, travelling is kind of an elixir of life for me.so, nature & culture keep my heart beating faster!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading. One of my most favourite books is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, but I also love books by Henning Mankell, Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel García Marquez, Umberto Eco, Fjodor Dostojewski, Ray Bradbury, Bertold Brecht, Jane Austen, Daniel Kehlmann, Erich Kästner, Max Frisch, Thomas Bernhard, Robert Seethaler, Michael Köhlmeier, Wolf Haas and of course the inevitable J.R.R. Tolkien and George R. R. Martin and and and ...
I like almost any kind of music ... especially if I know the lyrics and/or I'm given the opportunity to sing + dance dance dance! you can take me to the movie anytime exept for adam sandler-movies or romantic comedies ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll never forget the breathtaking and raw beauty of the tibetan Himalayan mountain-range as I was passing the highest motorable pass in the world hitchhiking on the back of an old pick-up while travelling in Ladakh.
After our car broke down in the middle of the night and in the middle of nowhere on a country road in Mozambique, my friend and I were being towed by the public bus into the city of Beira the next morning. People on the street pointed with their fingers at us and were laughing and shouting, it was as if the circus was coming to town. Of course they were making fun of the stupid muzungus, but still it's a wonderful example of how an unpleasant situation turned out just fine and became a sweet memory.
