ABOUT ME

My name is Samantha, but no one has actually called me this until living in Africa. It's usually just Sam or whatever else is fitting for the time. I'm a relentless dreamer and find it hard to sit in the same place for too long. Spontaneity and adventure have always given me butterflies. I have a found deep joy in connecting with people from many diverse backgrounds, but find comfort in knowing home and the people there are only a plane ride away. Laughing is an irreplaceable daily priority of mine and I tend to have a weakness for people in touch with their sense of humor. I admire the minorities and the underdogs most of the time. I like to learn something in just about everything I do. I believe in the kindness and compassion of the human being and whatever is meant to happen will eventually make its way through.

PHILOSOPHY

This is the secret: dance, scream with joy, let sexuality be defined on your own terms. Be gorgeous, free and estatic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been down south as well as around the northeast in the States. I have also been in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and S. Africa that have gave me some incredible stories. It rocks. The people and experiences you can meet/make through here are incredible. I am for sure looking to do more surfing and host when I decide to reside somewhere for some time.

Interests

Although I am a beginner, languages have taken a giant leap up in importance in my book. Besides this, I love to read, write, dance, learn, discuss, explore and if Africa has taught me nothing else it would be the importance of just being and taking in the simple things that are so easy to take for granted.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Travel journals inspire me and my favorites would have to be Tales of a Female Nomad and The Blue Sweater. As for fiction, Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn. Music: Classic rock is my true love. And as for new music, give me a good beat and I'll be happy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving was exhilirating, but watching the babies in my family grow up is extraordinary.
