About Me

Well, up to now I've been a student in Ireland, making films and enjoying youth! I am the eldest of three children in Dublin. I live films, music, some sports and of course, travelling. I have just finished college and I would like to think I am a trained editor. I've never felt so confident in a skill before, so I am very pleased with how I've turned out so far!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because myself and a few friends are spending the summer in Portland, Oregon. I just finished studying filmmaking in college, back in Ireland, and we are delighted the films we made. We heard of the amazing film festival that goes on in Portland every September, so we thought it sounded perfect to spend a summer there and maybe try get our films shown in September. However, that requires money, and I don't have too much of it. With this in mind, my friends recommended couch surfing, saying it could help me out for one or two days, if I'm stuck, until we find our feet in Oregon. They also said it was a great way to meet really cool people, which I'm always up for, especially from a place I've never been, or dreamed of being. I had never heard of couchsurfing before, but I set this account up as soon as I could. I'm starting to get very excited about the possibilities and opportunities it could present.

Interests

I'm a total film buff. I spend a lot of time going to movies and making them, well at least trying to anyway!

Music, Movies, and Books

I find these questions hard to answer, so I'll keep it simple.

Favourite Song: All My Friends by LCD Soundsystem
Favourite Band: Radiohead
Favourite Film: No Country For Old Men
Favourite Book: Homicide By David Simon
Favourite TV Series: The Wire (Of Course)

Although these are decisive answers, I do love a good debate!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw Radiohead live..... tell me thats not amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I pride myself on my knowledge of film and the craft of filmmaking. So for anybody who is interested in hearing about them, I'm your man!

But I'm also from Dublin, Ireland, which is a small place in the grand scheme of things, so I have a lot to learn and see before I could ever call myself a teacher.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Perhaps my Irish humour is something I can share with hosts, stories from Dublin and my travels around Europe aswell. My previous job on my first J1 was a manager of a video store. I met a lot of people from around the states, maybe we might know somebody in common!

I feel very passionately about a lot of things, mainly art like films and music. I love nothing more than sharing and discovering with other people. A debate on the best film out right now or the best song on the radio is always something I enjoy doing.
