About Me

I'm a self employed CPA (small business taxation and smsf specialist) , married with three incredible children. Two are at uni in Brisbane and one is at uni in Tokyo. My wife is an author and musician and my three children are also musicians, two playing in Qld Youth Orchestra. We are a Christian family and attend Church regularly. Gaye and I grew up in the country Queensland, our parents owning cattle, sheep and wheat properties. I attended boarding school in Brisbane and Gaye in Rockhampton. My family is my first priority and main interest in life and I'm excited for the opportunities afforded by the new technologies available to them. I love to encourage others and share life experiences and am interested in politics, taxation systems and business. I'm always up for a good conversation, enjoy a good book and a nice glass of Shiraz.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't travelled extensively but when I do I enjoy meeting local people and learning about local customs, issues of concern and about life in general in their part of the world. My son Thomas is travelling to Germany on a tour with Queensland Youth Orchestra. I'm meeting him in Munich. We're going on a 3 week "father/son" tour around Germany including a coach tour to some surrounding countries. Thomas will return to Germany either as a student or on an internship or just for travelling so we wish to meet some local people along the way and hopefully make some friends on couchsurfing.com.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most music genre's including classical, jazz, blues, modern, rock and Christian music. The movies I enjoy are action, drama, romantic comedy and documentaries. I love to read when time permits and enjoy action and crime, drama, period drama, history and art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 28 day Expat Explore coach tour around Europe with my with wonderful Gaye back in 2010.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach about Australian ways of life, my experiences growing up in the country and (my wife) can share Australian recipes, explain my leather work hobby as a child (plaited belts and red hide whips and drafting canes used on cattle properties). Learn about other countries and cultures, places to visit and travel tips. Share our family life and culture.
