Overview
About Me
Hey everybody, my name is Ian and I’m out here to try and seize new experiences in life and force myself out of a relatively narrow shell I’ve been in thus far. I’m witty, polite, and funny and I try to spread that energy back into the world whenever possible. I do t take myself too seriously but am also a very down to earth and respectable listener. I love deep and interesting conversation and new experiences. I have two eyes and two ears, but only one mouth so I try I to listen and see more than I speak.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
With any luck, traveling will help me avoid a midlife crisis and generally make me a better person who is able to connect and give back more meaningfully to the world.
Music, Movies, and Books
Heavy metal, indie pop, indie and most any music gets me dancing. Music is a big part of my soul and I couldn’t live without it. I’m a big science fiction and fantasy nerd so that all jives with me. I like science fiction books and nonfiction in equal parts, and I’m especially getting into autobiographies these days.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once crowdsurfed a guy in a wheelchair up to the front of a Korn concert and helped him catch a guitar pick, so that was pretty cool...
Teach, Learn, Share
One of my biggest personal interests these days is cooking. Food is a language shared across every culture and I love experiencing everyone’s take on what they eat and how they share a meal with friends and family. Cooking is a fantastic way to bond and share new and old tradition alike. Anything related to food will get my attention and I will readily cook for anyone at the first opportunity.
