About Me

Hi, I'm a soon-to-be graduated student at Emory University, where I've studied Psychology and Religion. I was born in Long Island, New York, but I moved down to Georgia was I was 4, and have lived there most of my life. I'm currently studying Chinese language and culture in China.

CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life before it gets swallowed up by graduate school. Also, get in to graduate school.

PHILOSOPHY
Always enjoy life to its fullest, and share that joy with friends whenever you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, and I love sharing and learning about other people's cultures and experiences. That pretty much sums it up.

Interests

Academically, I like to learn about psychopathology and cross-cultural psychology, and one of my favorite things is going to see and experience new cultures. I also like to listen to music, read, and play video games in my free time. I volunteer at an equine therapy ranch in Georgia, were I've worked for the past 6 years, and I'm passionate about working with both animals and people. I love to hike and climb whenever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of a wide variety of rock music, but I like to keep an open mind. I'm always open to hearing new genres and artists. I love sci-fi and fiction books in general, and am a prolific reader.

I don't really watch all that many movies, though I'm trying to remedy this. When I do watch movies, I have a preference for films that are suspenseful and keep you on the edge of your seat. I also have a soft spot for "so-bad-they're-good" films, which never fail to make me laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On the island of Tanna in Vanuatu, I took a jeep across the ash plains, climbed a live volcano, stood next to an eruption, and lived to tell the tale.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can talk all about where I come from and the culture I grew up in. I can also talk about psychology, equine therapy, and a number of other topics which will either interest you or make you fall asleep.

Learn: Above all else, I want to learn about other people, places, and cultures.

Share: A good time, some cultural exchange, and hopefully a few laughs along the way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my enthusiasm for learning, and my desire to experience new things with friends. I can also share my own travel and cultural experiences, and I would love to hear my host's stories as well. Plus, I'm always down for just hanging out and having fun.
