About Me
Read about CS in "Anxiety Across the Americas." The protagonist, a computer programmer, completed a 20,000 mile motorcycle journey in South America and stayed with hosts. It sounded like a great way to meet people! (Best I've done is a 5k mile motorcycle journey, camping and CSing along the way!)
I grew up in San Diego. In summer of 2017 I traveled with a German I met playing a video game. We'd never seen each other in person until he decided to fly out and go for a 3 month trip across North America we'd been discussing for years. I have a home-built RV and a dual sport motorcycle. We used those vehicles for transportation and accommodations, but wish I had known about this community then! An awesome experience would have been a lot richer.
As a result of that trip I've been to many national parks and most major cities in the US. I've been living in the Texas Panhandle, less than 2 miles from wonderful lake Meredith, and have ~20 trees on my property! It's peaceful, cost of living is low, and the weather isn't bad. Everything I need in town is less than 2 miles or a mouse click away! I enjoy bicycling to and from the lake to do exercises there almost every day. At the same time, however, I don't plan on living in Fritch for the rest of my life. When I'm more successful I plan to move to one of the larger cities in Texas or Florida, or perhaps live the digital nomad lifestyle! Needless to say, still exploring to get a better idea.
In middle school I was breeding tropical fish and selling them to pet shops. I then operated my first official business in high school and college growing carnivorous plants (read venus flytrap et. al.) in my back yard and shipping them around the world. I started trading the money I earned in financial markets, did a good job, but felt like I was wasting my life and talent considering the amount of screen time I was putting in. I learned Python and am now I'm studying data science to speed my algorithmic trading aspirations. Also learning web development and digital marketing for online business. Not exactly sure where I'll end up, but always focused on improving my mental operating system, building better mental models, and acquiring skills related to technology, business, and finance. Unsure what my first million dollar business will be, but looking forward to creating it!
In fact, I get a feeling there is a "world" of high-quality people that I belong in...but don't know where they are or how to fidn them. One could say I'm still seeking my "tribe".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meet awesome folks! Share life experiences. Learn about the world. BTW, for accommodations freecampsites.net is a great resource I use all the time.
Interests
I really enjoy learning how the world works, especially when it relates to business and finance. I aim to become a fund manager, but since I'm very grateful for the technology we have access to wish to eventually found a research organization to help advance technological and medical art.
