Overview
About Me
Hello everyone! My name is Ian and I'm raised in Taiwan, the US, and China. Now I live in The Hague. I finished university last year and currently I'm working at a circular solar startup in Rotterdam. I'm passionate about solving societal challenges but especially those related to environmental sustainability. My primary focus is in the field of renewable energy and secondary field ecosystem restoration.
In my free time I enjoy doing physical activities. From playing organised team sports such as basketball (I started playing since I was 5) and bouldering and working out to biking in the Dutch dunes and swimming in the North Sea. Related to that I enjoy immersing myself in nature and traveling to hidden spots. However, I also plan to learn new languages (Dutch and French), instrument (most likely drum) and read more in my leisure time. I also enjoy spontaneous (long) conversation with people. Lastly I enjoy cooking different food and would like to start fermenting stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In this beautiful world, I believe there are endless opportunities to explore and learn things about nature, people and culture; and this motivates me. When traveling, it is incredible to actually meet with locals residents, discuss about views and exchange perspectives. Conversely, I would also like to host fellow travelers.
