About Me

Hi there!

Currently pursuing my masters at Boston University but my heart is in the mountains and seeing new places(both urban and outdoors!). If I'm not traveling, hiking, trail running, climbing,, or exploring I love getting to know my own city, Boston, better. Trying to new parts of the city or learn new routes, trying a new coffee shop or just meet new people. My current mission has been exploring every single trail running location around Boston to find my favorite!

I got my introduction into travel when I took a gap year after high school and lived in Spain to learn Spanish. It gave me the opportunity to see so many cool places, meet some truly amazing people and build life long friendships. It also instilled in me a travel bug that hasn't gone away.

As the years have gone on I've moved back to how I grew up, spending lots of time outdoors doing various activities -- although mainly hiking. Which is what I spend most of free time doing and dreaming about. Despite that I still can't wait to explore some new countries and cities once the world calms down a little more.

P.s. I am fully vaccinated (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, travel the world, and build connections. I truly enjoy meeting new people and hearing about their lives and CouchSurfing is a great way to do that! I've learned that what makes a place truly special is the people and the connections you build and those are just as important if not more so than whatever magnificent place you might be visiting. I want to use couchsurfing to have more of those experiences!

Interests

I really enjoy most anything outdoors and the idea of a new adventure really gets me excited. I love planning new trips, pouring over topo maps to come up with new ideas etc.

I've also been getting into rock climbing more(or again), climbing lots in the gym but also trying to get outdoors to start building towards alpine skills.

If I'm not outdoors then I'll surely need something to fuel my day and my addictive drink of choice is coffee -- which I've gotten way over-involved with recently. So much so that I roast my own coffee beans now in order to "save money" although somehow I haven't actually saved anything yet!

Cooking is also my escape from the stressed of life, i love trying new food and learning new recipes. Learning a culture through food is both tasty and provided a unique perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

My reading tastes seem to be heavily focussed on mountaineering books. Recently I read "No Shortcut to the top" about K2.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking the glacier express train in Switzerland, truly amazing views. I think I had my head out the window the entire time :P

Driving over Thompson pass in Alaska, crazy mountains...truly blown away.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty decent cook most days and love sharing my cooking and or recipes. If I'm not on the trail then sharing whatever coffee and how I make it is always fun.

I can also teach you about computer science and programming or just help you with your technology struggles (:

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook for you, teaching you programming, offer good company or do any tasks or errands that might make your life easier. I love helping people whenever I can!

I can also be rather spontaneous, if you wake up one morning with an idea for a day, weekend, week adventure chances are I'll be more than happy to tag along for some company!

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
