Hi! I'm Ian and I'm from Connecticut, where I lived there the first 20 years of my life. I went to college for two years and immediately after I traveled the country for 6 months, where I worked for different people along the way in New York, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona through a site called workaway.info. I'm now finishing out my travels within the United States.

My biggest passion is music, which I have been surrounded by my entire life. I grew up with a dad who teaches guitar lessons and plays in bands and at age 9, I started learning to play guitar. Since then, I've been a part of 3 CD releases with a local Connecticut band called Hard Water and I've written countless other pieces of music on my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to avoid camping when I can and it isn't cost effective to pay for a hotel so couch surfing seems like a great way to get around the country. I also like meeting people from different backgrounds, hearing their stories, and helping in whatever way I can.

Learn - I'm hoping to learn more about people/activities in the states and cities that I'm staying in, the places that hosts have traveled to, and whatever a host loves doing!
