Overview
About Me
Current mission is to not have a mission. Intentions are to not set expectations and just roll with it. Plan to absorb and explore culture, similarities and differences. There is always something new to learn.
ABOUT ME
Currently back in civilization after traveling abroad for the past couple years. Had many great experiences surfing and looking to have plenty more ;)
PHILOSOPHY
"You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance and write poems and suffer and understand for all that is life." Jiddu Krishnamurti.
I'd like to add to that.. travel, make music, learn different language and take risks.
Another favorite quote of mine that I try and live by:
"People never grow unless they increase their tolerance to the unfamiliar."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I began couchsurfing in 2003, when I was 18, by word of mouth. Since traveling long term, we have been surfing here and there. We also believe in the importance of traveling and the nature of backpacking, which is typically moving around a lot and being on a budget. Therefore, we believe both surfers and hosts should keep this in mind. We want to surf because yes, we obviously need somewhere to stay, but it's more than that. Traveling is about experience and surfing comes down to trust. We genuinely love getting to know people and be part of where we are. If we send you a message, we aren't going down the line... We are choosing places that feel right for us and think would be a good fit! Sometimes it's difficult to express why and how you would be a good guest in one message or for people to see your sincerity and gratefulness. Just know.. We are! It's an amazing thing. Lastly, we are in the country to get to know people from the country or who live here. We love couchsurfing because you get to know someone on a more personal level, which have been some of our favorite memories.
