About Me

Happiness...

We live in Melbourne Australia, a really fantastic city and we love traveling.

We have a pet conure, Lucky, who often comes for walks with us. Very cool.

I have a great sense of humour, a wide circle of friends, and really enjoy life.

Most weekends we are out and about, whether enjoying Melbourne, markets, wineries, mountain or seeing friends, chilling at a movie or just veging.

PHILOSOPHY

Seek happiness. Grow. Quite simple really.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I suppose, I have been participating in couch surfing for some time. I think it started about 15 years ago. I received a call late one night, an American voice, who said "Hi Im Jay and a friend of yours, Jane, said if we ever go to Australia we can sponge off you. So we are at the airport can you come and get us". At the time I thought, WTF, however I just sighed, picked them up and we had an awesome time. They are great friends now, so I look back on that and welcome positive, friendly, caring, happy people into my life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None to date. Saying that I am a firm believer in sponging, and usually just drop in on friends and expect the same.

Interests

Politics (I know it seems boring), stimulating discussion on any topic, world issues, environment, economies...

Environmental causes, especially the more right wing. Ive been doing charity work helping seniors use Macs, however I think Im going to do some work for Sea Shepard instead.

Cultures. I think the world is a fascinating place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly foreign films, as I long tired of the Hollywood crap.

I read when I have a chance, rarely now. I enjoy most fantasy, a bit of escapism. Maybe I should just make more time.

Music wise, I am open to most music, except maybe rap or country and western, my god...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The birth of my two children at home will always be the most my amazing experience, a gift that keeps giving.

Suba diving of WW2 wrecks in Papua was pretty amazing. The fjords of Norway, the Canadian rockies, New Zealand glaciers, all amazing sights. I thin some of the best times were just being with friends, experiencing cultures, new places, new foods, just being.

Teach, Learn, Share

There is something to learn from everyone, sometimes good sometimes bad. I look for teachers, spiritial, intellectual, wise people to share their vision and experiences.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Monaco, Myanmar, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam, Wales
