About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make friends as I wander around the world

ABOUT ME

I was born in Scotland, but raised all my life in the USA. I guess that gives me a bit of a split personality. I have tried to get back to Europe as much as possible. I share the CS passion for traveling and have stayed at least one night in 18 countries as of last count.

I love finding moments of joy in my life. This could be the first bite of a croissant in a Jerusalem market, or jumping into the absolutely perfect temperature pool. We only get one shot at this life, best to seize the day.

I am insatiably curious. Not like sticking my fingers into electrical sockets, more like trying to figure out why things work the way they do.

I consider myself an environmentalist, and enjoy talking about ways of greening our world. This is also what I have spent the last five years trying to do through my research. This has been a long-term interest - when I was in elementary school I started a recycling club.

Being out in nature makes me feel at peace with the world, and I try to get outside whenever I can tear myself away from my desk.

But I also like going out for a few drinks and meeting new people.
