About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see more of the world, meet new people, try new food and escape a daily routine.
ABOUT ME
I love meeting new people and I'm always happy to grab coffee or drinks. I recently graduated from Pomona College in California and I am soon moving to Taiwan to continue studying. I'm extremely excited by this opportunity and I can't wait to live in Asia again. A friend from Hong Kong introduced me to couch surfing. I never really used the site before living in Beijing in 2011, but now I can't seem to stop using this amazing resource.
PHILOSOPHY
I think one of the most important things to do in life is to keep an open mind. It sounds cliched I know, but this simple philosophy has enriched many of my experiences so far.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
While in Beijing I attended almost all of the weekly meetings, exchanged language with fellow surfers and met many great people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Last year had my first surfing experience in Long Beach, CA! For the most part I haven't needed a place to stay during most of my travels but I plan to surf more in the future. I have attended MANY meetings and events posted in the forums (mainly in Beijing) and have had an amazing time meeting fellow couch surfers. One of my most fun CS experiences might have been traveling to a party on an aircraft carrier Tianjin on a bus full of CSers.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Electronica, Hip-Hop/Rap, Rock
Movies (to name a few): The entire Bourne Trilogy, Casino Royale, Superbad, The Matrix, Taken, The Hangover, Hitch, The Dark Knight... the list goes on.
Books: A few titles I really enjoyed were Shogun, Taipan and Noble House, all by James Clavell. I also recently read Game of Thrones after HBO got me hooked on the series mid-season but I couldn't stand waiting for new episodes to come out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ha Long Bay, Vietnam: Quite possibly the most beautiful place I have been. I felt like I was on the Travel Channel. Spent two days and one night on a boat cruising around the bay and taking in the sights. The water was warm and the weather perfect. Me and my group got really lucky because on day 2 the weather took a turn for the worst. I'll post a few pics of this amazing place, although I think Google images already has it covered.
Vang Vieng: A tiny town half way between Vientiane and Luang Probang in Laos, where locals have turned a portion of the beautiful Nam Song river into a sort of waterpark/nightclub hybrid, something you just don't see enough of in the US... Needless to say, an amazing place to stay for a few days and somewhere I would like to go again.
Teach, Learn, Share
