About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn, teach, be happy, make music!

ABOUT ME

I have salt water in my veins, mud on my boots, and music in my soul. If you like anything around the water (sailing especially), in the mountains, or music we should get along famously!

I am of the firm conviction that a good conversation trumps sleep. Any time.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't sweat the small stuff. Spread happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to host, surf, and generally hang out and get to know anyone who is traveling through!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted some great folks and looking forward to doing some surfing of my own!

Interests

Sailing, conservation, emergency medicine, music, hiking/camping/backpacking, science, cooking, history, philosophy etc. etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My favorite genres of music are soul, blues, jazz, funk, bluegrass, and appalachian. But I have an appreciation for all music that demonstrates the talent and creativity of its composers and performers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spontaneously deciding to climb Cradle Mountain in Tasmania late in the afternoon. Nearly sprinting to the top to save time and daylight, and being rewarded for this foolishness by having the summit completely to ourselves on a rare crystal clear day!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll teach some guitar, harmonica, jaw harp, or didgeridoo to anyone that cares to listen. I'd love to learn your instrument too! Or some new songs!
I can teach sailing, camping, and survival skills (I have a certification in wilderness medicine!)
I love trivia, I'll trade seemingly useless information with anyone!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bermuda, New Zealand, United States, Virgin Islands, British

Countries I’ve Lived In
