Overview
About Me
Me (Iana): Curious, kind-hearted, learner. Landscape designer, born/raised in Uzbekistan, moved to Russia in my teens, and then to the U.S. to study.
My husband (Isaac) : A good person, will (try to) make you laugh, nursing student turned software developer/geeky rapper. Half Japanese, born/raised in the U.S.
Both of us are kinda nerdy misfits, but hopefully in a good way. We don't smoke, drink, or use drugs. We won't be going out with you to bars, but we'd be happy to explore other parts of town with you!
If you want to stay with us, please contact Isaac since he is way better with texting than me: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/isaac-noda
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's fun to get to know people from other places and cultures. It feels good to give (and receive) a free place to stay.
Interests
* Your life/experiences/wisdom
* Board games (only when I'm winning)
* Hiking/climbing/skiing
* Cooking/eating (I don't eat meat but my husband will sell his soul for a good bowl of pork belly ramen)
* Drawing/woodworking/craft projects
* Learning languages
* Pets (who doesn't love a cute fuzzy animal? or lizard...)
Music, Movies, and Books
Music (for me) is more about its connection to specific moments in life/people/memories, so I don't really have a favorite. I like learning about different cultural takes on music as well.
My husband and I aren't on the same page about movies. I like light hearted, happy stuff (like The Great British Baking Show) whereas he likes darker, psychological stuff (like Black Mirror).
Even though I like light hearted movies/shows, I like to read dark dystopian books. I guess it's the Russian in me :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have raised an amazing cat. He is a truly fine young man.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can make borscht together! Or Japanese soba! I can also try my best to teach you some Russian.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, food, a board game, or a hike.
