ABOUT ME
I haphazardly bumped into a couple of friends at a local coffee shop. It was the end of a long day at a dull job and my countdown to leaving Australia for Europe was under 50 days, I was feeling pretty good. I ordered my coffee, paid and turned to sit outside when a chirpy voice called my name.
Well there on a small table were two old house mates. They asked how I was and I said better with company and moved on to other conversation. My coffee arrived just as one of the girls said 'you know, this is why I like talking with you. You don't mince words.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I have only been traveling, and have used CS to meet new people in the places that I have ended up.
I can't wait to get back to Australia to be able to show even the slightest part of the hospitality and friendship that I have been privileged to receive from the people I have met on here!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nothing but positive!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love books and writng too much to put it all here... I have been making it my mission to read at least one novel from an author of each country I visit... I think I have set myself up with a life time backlog.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was living in Port Fairy, a small tourist town in south West Victoria, Australia. The house overlooked the beach and the sunrises were always spectacular. I got into the habit of watching people walk along the beach. I wondered what they thought about, if they thought at all or just listened to the sea and felt the wind.
One day I noticed that I had seen the one person before. I watched him pass and tried to piece the past together to see what memory he belonged in. While I sifted through my memories he dissappeared from the beach. I didn't sleep well that night and thought about my absent memory where this man had made such a significant memory.
The next day he was back, and the next, and the next. The whole beach had emptied of other tourists and locals - there was just shells, sand, sea,and him. I thought I was going mad. The more that I looked at him the more that I searched my memories to find what had to be a significant time and place, but none came.
After a couple of weeks I decided to follow him to the end of the pier and confront him. Of course it was a windy and ugly day for walking. When I saw him coming I grabbed my coat and ran for the beach.
I must have underestimated the speed of his stride because by the time I had made it to the sand he was well infront of me. I knew his path having watched it time after time, so I pulled up my hood and lowered my eyes against the stinging airborne sand and followed.
I got to the pier, and was alone. My legs were wet and I needed to get to a toilet. He wasn't anywhere to be seen. I decided to walk to the end of the pier anyway. There was a splash in the water next to me like someone jumping into the water. I turned to look and saw a black shape move through the water. It looked like a small whale, but when it raised its head it was a large seal. It watched me watching it, then turned and pointed to my house and waved its flipper. It barked something, and dived back under the small waves and dissappeared. I went home and had some whisky to get the cold from my bones.
The next day I looked for the man, but he never returned. I think he turned into a seal.
