About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy work. Make friends. Tell stories. Pay off student loans.
ABOUT ME
I am a positive person. Sometimes I like to chat a lot, and other times not. I work more than is probably healthy but balance it out by taking extended breaks to travel and study.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am still a newb to couch surfing and I am now living in China. I have a spare room and spacious couch. I also am looking to travel around Asia these next couple of years, so I would love to surf that way too. I like to travel alone, but I like to be with other people, especially like-minded people who are interested in sharing experiences, stories, music, and art.
Also, I have a little dog and she is a great host.
Interests
I love books and talking about literature in a way that is probably annoying to most people. You probably won't hear anything about books from me unless you ask, but if you do, it is fair game. I like to run. I sometimes run marathons, but I would hesitate to say that I "like" running marathons. I like to learn new things about music and movies, so if you have strong opinions about either, my curiosity is officially piqued.

Music, Movies, and Books
As a hold-over from my teens, I still have a soft-spot for sci-fi and high fantasy books, but I have broadened my interests a bit. I am in a book club at my job (NERD), and we recently read and discussed The Stranger, Albert Camus; Norwegian Wood, Haruki Murakami; Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austin; and A Feminist Manifesto in 15 Suggestions, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Please suggest a book to me!
I love Canadian folk and alternative music but I've got a definite weakness for rap and reggae as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gambling on guinea pigs in small town Portugal. Not fighting guinea pigs. I am not a monster. They were just competing for crumbs
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play Mahjiang, if you don't already know.
I want to learn how to play the piano.
I can share thoughts on many subjects including music, politics, food, and things to do in Suzhou!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a bed or couch, a friendly house with friendly people (and dog) good conversation and some tips and tricks to navigating China. I am happy to share my kitchen and am even happy to cook when I can and there is usually a beer in the fridge for whoever is thirsty.
