ABOUT ME

I would like to think of myself as a outgoing and social person who is always up the an adventure. My first taster of travelling was Christmas 2009 when 2 friends and I flew to Australia for 3 weeks to meet up with a friend and have a holiday. I got to experience the ashses (cricket) at the amazing Melbourne Cricket Ground, see new years in at Sydney Harbour and then made our way (far too quickly due to our time limit) up the East coast checking out Whits Sunday's and Fraser Island. That trip got me hooked on travelling and a year and a bit later I set off across Eastern Europe through Russia, Mongola and China to South East Asia where I met some amazing people, had some amazing adventures and saw some amazing places!

2013 was an amazing year travelling South and Central America with my girlfriend. So many beautiful countries with beautiful people. I was lucky enough to meet some great locals and shared some experiences with them. I volunteered at a number of places in South America, my favourte of them all was looking after rescued Howler Monkeys in the Bolivian rainforest...amazing memories.

After Central America I lived in Australia for a year, 6 months in Brisbane working in an office and then 3 months of Blueberry picking in Coffs Harbour which was great fun. I also managed to fit in a month of travelling up the Queensland coast in a van.

On my way back to England, for Christmas, I spent a few moths in Thailand and Myanmar mainly volunteering in an elephant sanctuary in Kanchanaburi which was an amazing experience.

I am currently in Shenyang, China working as an English teacher. I'm really enjoying it and enjoying living in a new and different city. The people here are very welcoming and there are lots of things to keep me entertained here.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really enjoy meeting people from around the world, sharing stories and learning new things. I have surfed a few times around South America and most recently in Iceland. I mainly enjoy the different meet-ups that is on offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was lucky enough to surf with an awesome guy in Rio during Carnival - this was my first CS experience (couldn't ask for a better first experience.) Since then have surfed and met up with some amazing CouchSurfers and have some great experiences.

Intereses

Back in England, in the summer I play cricket on the weekends and help coach and score games for colts during the week. I pretty much have a cricket commitment everyday of the summer, but I wouldn't do it of I didn't love playing and coaching the sport. When I'm not playing cricket I always find other ways to keep entertained by it go for a run, play the odd 5-a-side game of football or socialising with friends. I have never been a big book reader but when a book catches my attention I can't put it down!! :)

I love animals - I have only had goldfish and hamsters as pets whilst growing up, but I love all animals especially dogs and (energetic) cats. Whilst travelling I have jumped at the opportunity to volunteer with animals, and I have been lucky enough to have worked with Elephants, Pumas, a variery of Monkeys, Dogs and Cats - most of them in resuce sanctuaries.

I love playing and learning new board games and card games. I have a real urge to play monopoly right now so if you have a monopoly board that would be amazing!!!!!!

I LOVE the 'Game of Thrones' books and tv series.

I like all music really, I like the variety that Kiss 100 and BBC Radio 1 have to offer.

Am a massive fan of British TV Comedy such as the Inbetweeners, Gavin and Stacey, and Only Fools and Horses to name a few.

My favourite films are Comedy and Action (plus old school Disney) Scary films are a big NO NO for me - am a big baby when it comes to that!!

I had an amazing time travelling China, The Great Wall of China was an amazing experience for me, it took me about 2 hours to walk a section of it and I later found out that was only 1/12th of the Wall!!!

Volunteering in the Bolivian Rainforest with an Ocolet, Howler Monkeys and Night Monkeys for a month was a truely unforgettable expereince!

I celebrated the Mongolian New Year (Tsagaan Sar) with a Mongolian Family in their Ger. We had a great conversation about how the live and had a lot of tasty dumplings and vodka that evening. The views in Mongolia are breaktaking!

The night sky in Punta del Diablo in Uruguay, was breath-taking. So so many beautiful stars, took my breath away.

Getting up close and personal with beautiful Elephants whilst volunteering at a sanctuary for old, sick and rescued Elephants in Thailand.

I can teach football and cricket. I coach under 15 year olds to play cricket in my home town.
I want to learn languages and local sports from different countries.
