About Me

I love explore and see new places. I studied film in college and visited India on a study abroad trip which sparked my previously unexplored curiosity in other cultures. Since then, I have worked in breweries in the US, for a travel company in Italy and taught English in Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find one of the best ways to experience a new place and to make earnest connections is to befriend people who live in those places. I am currently an English Teacher in Saudi Arabia but plan on moving to China sometime this year and eventually California to pursue a career in film.

Rest assured if you have any interest in visiting China or maybe even California in the future I will always be happy to host gracious and adventurous vagabonds like myself.

Interests

I am pretty open minded and love to explore new places and experience new things. I will try any type of food or drink at least once (one of my favorite parts of traveling).

I love film and television and want to work in the industry. I am an aspiring screenwriter who recently got into improv and standup. I love independent and foreign cinema.

Along with travel and film, Craft Beer is my third passion. I have worked at a few breweries and have limited home-brew experience. I love to visit new breweries or pubs and try new beers wherever possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films -In Bruges, The Big Lebowski, The Departed, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation, Birdman, The Master, Good Will Hunting,

Books - Watership Down, The Great Gatsby, Snows of Kilimanjaro, and any play by Martin McDonagh.

Music - Sublime and the Beastie Boys are all time favorites but I can listen to anything. I recently have been listening to a lot of Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Shakey Graves and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took the jump and studied abroad in India without ever leaving the country before. Culture shock be damned I had a blast!

And of course I came back with the neverending desire to travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have spent a year Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Hanoi, Vietnam and can bring these skills to help anyone looking to learn or practice their English.

In addition I also have some experience in bartending and homebrewing and can help anyone interested in these areas.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to have a good time and try new things. I definitely think the best way to experience a new place is by having fun with the locals. I like to think I can bring some fun and enthusiasm to the table and we can both show each other some things.

Who knows maybe you're really into making beer or film production and we can network. And of course if you ever find yourself in the US you have a couch to surf.
