About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Future Grad student, Airline Mileage Guru and World explorer hehe
ABOUT ME
I've worked in Equity Research for a few years, then went backpacking around
the world till I got tired and funds ran low, going into Management Consulting where I spent three years. I got back into the travel habit and I'm currently at 118 countries... :) with a goal to visit every country on Earth by the time I'm 40
I'm also a bit of a mutt, while I was born in New York, I was raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and have some Polish blood in me, so I also have Polish/EU passport... it's a cliche, but I am a global citizen hehehe
PHILOSOPHY
live each day like it was your last day...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If you are around NYC and want advice on places to visit, where to eat and shop as a local, drop me a line...
I've organized a few tours around the city and have also done one on one sightseeing with out of town CSers... I love NYC and love to share my knowledge of the city (I even took a class about NYC history back n college hehe)
I used to be really into the site, but gave up on it and now giving it another chance...
I'm a Management Consultant, so I'm on the road several days a week. I live out in Queens, which isn't really all the accessible for people visiting NYC. But still I've had some Surfers on a spare couch and attended some events...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had some Surfers on a spare couch and attended some events... Surfed in Antwerp and Leuven, Belgium
I love showing people around town and have organized a few CS events showing off my lovely city.
Interests
traveling, frequent flyer miles and more traveling
arcane history books, I love learning about new topics... from the history of Fordlandia in Brazil, to the origins of the Sexual revolution in the US passing by Economic policies of the Third Reich... I crave knowledge and seek to read a book or two a week...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
watching the sunset over Angkor Wat with a nice cold beer after climbing several hundred steep steps...
being the only westerner in a pagoda in Burma surrounded by 1000s of locals during a ceremony...
being on a chicken bus in rural guatemala, about 45 people on board this old NJ transit bus from the 1970s... I was traveling with a friend, right behind us a group of 5 guys were debating the best strategy to cross illegally into Mexico and then the US. some older guys on the bus were giving them advice but it was surreal, here I am, listening to these stories, just wondering what goes thru their minds to make such a decision and at the same time, grateful that I was born where I was born...
Teach, Learn, Share
The best kept secret out there are airline miles, for less than the cost of a coach ticket you can jet the world in Business or First... Sip good champagne and JW Blue at the airport lounge and then fly off in style to out of these world places... check out site like Flyertalk.com or MilePoint.com for more tips and advice...
