Resumen
Sobre mí
Hi there! My name is Ibai, I’m a young teacher from the Basque Country in Spain, I got my degree last year, and I’m now looking for new adventures that will broaden my knowledge in many areas.
I realised only recently that travelling is the best way to do that, discovering new places, meeting people from different cultures, learning languages, and sharing these amazing experiences with the friends I meet all over the world.
Travel, travel, and travel, that’s all I want to do, travel as much as possible.
I’m a really tolerant and open-minded person who believes everyone is equal, and so should they be treated, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs… At the end of the day, we are all people living on the same ground. Furthermore, I am a really hard-working person and I’m willing to do as much as I can in order to achieve my dreams.
Kids are my passion, that’s why I became a primary teacher, I believe education is the most important part of a society, and teaching the newer generations about love, kindness, acceptance, and equality is one of my main concerns. I’ve been working as a group leader for some years now, and this has allowed me to visit places like Canada or Thailand where I learnt what it is to live on your own.
Besides kids, surfing is my other passion. The sea gives me the freedom that sometimes the earth is lacking.
As of now, I’m living in Ireland. I just started working as a primary teacher in a school, with kids and it’s already setting up to be one of the most enriching experiences of my life. This is my first time in Ireland, and I’m really excited to start discovering this amazing island.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
Travelling and meeting new people is what I like most, and Couchsurfing gives me the chance to do both things. I’ve always thought that the best way to know a place and its culture is through the local people, as those are the ones that will teach you their languages, traditions, food… And in exchange I’d share my stories and everything I know with them.
Intereses
Kids and surfing being my biggest passions, I also have a strong love for sports: football, scuba-diving, running, hiking, cycling, fishing…
As I stated before, I’ve just discovered recently how important cultural exchanges are, I’ve enjoyed it a lot so far and I want to continue doing it, I always try to learn something new when I’m on a trip and that is really exciting for me.
And of course, I also love a nice movie night, and reading a good book.
I enjoy a lot going out with my friends and try different types of beers.
