My name is Ibrahim Barada, and I love meeting new people from different cultures and backgrounds. I study Computer Science at the American University of Beirut. I am interested in politics, international relations and public speaking. In my leisure time I like to workout, read novels and take long-distance walks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was chosen to participate in the student leaders program hosted by George Town University in the United States. I will be staying there for 45 days learning how to become a true leader and grasping the essential skills for serving the community. In addition, I will be learning about the United States (history, culture, politics...). Hence, I would like to meet up with people living there to have some conversations, coffee, talk about books, movies and learn about the United States as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have accomplished a project funded by the US Embassy in Beirut. The project was helping children of an underprivileged area and having aggressive behavior through Art Therapy. The project tackled around 30 child with different cases of aggression, depression, confusion or some children who have been abused. The project was successful and we saw major change in their behavior at school, neighborhood and their homes.
