About Me

Well, my name is İbrahim, but everyone calls me İbo as it is easier, and I like it. I was born in Fethiye – probably one of the best cities on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey – in 1988. I started to study Public Administration at Akdeniz University in Antalya in 2006. During all my university life, I tried to take participation in international challenges and organizations. I worked for AIESEC – an international organization which is run completely by university students and offers personal development and internship programs – between the year 2006 and 2009. I left the organization in 2009 as I wanted to have an Erasmus experience. I studied Cultural and Social Sciences as an Erasmus student at European University of Viadrina in Frankfurt an der Oder in Germany in the year 2010. I came back to Antalya and completed my origin study in the year 2011.

Following my graduation, I moved to İstanbul and started to work for Yemeksepeti.com – Turkey’s number 1 online food ordering portal – but I had to leave my work in order to complete my army duty. After army, I started to work for Çelebi Ground Handling Co. – Turkey’s first private and one of the biggest ground handling companies – and I still work for them. I have worked in many different positions from field to back office. I work as Key Account Assistant Manager now. My real workplace is İstanbul actually, but since I have chance to work remotely, I live and work in Antalya.

I am a quite easy-going and multi-cultural person thanks to all my international experiences, and I can keep up almost with everyone within the scope of respect. 😊

So, if you are planning to visit Antalya, do not hesitate to contact me. It is not only about surfing but also about any kind of help. 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I met Couchsurfing first in the year 2010 when I was an Erasmus student in Frankfurt an der Oder in Germany, and I found it as a great chance to share cultures. I was mostly surfing since I was travelling all around Europe, but I couldn’t stop myself and started also to host as soon as I was back in Turkey. I had really awesome guests and times. But after I started to work, I couldn’t find enough time for Couchsurfing since I had to change cities quite often. Now, I am settled in Antalya after a long time, work and live here and decided to get into Couchsurfing again. 😊

Interests

Well, I love listening to music as well as making. I play a Turkish instrument which is called “Baglama” for over 20 years. It sounds like Greek Bouzouki. But I started to play clarinet when I was a college student and could not find chance to take care of Baglama, so clarinet is my primary instrument now. I do not play professionally like performing or so on. I mostly make some records. On the other hand, I like audio editing and mixing. I have some examples in my Soundcloud account, you may want to check. You can also have a look at my Spotify list.

What else, I love being outside jogging, trekking, camping, cycling, swimming and so on. But I also love home and being inside. 😊 I send my spare time mostly reading or on Netflix.

When I have free time, I also go hanging out with my friends, sip some drinks next to the sea shore, party if the music suits me. 😊

Music, Movies, and Books

Although my favorite genre is science fiction, I like watching also thrillers and mystery movies. Wow, Spanish thrillers are the best. You should give try. I can say that my favorite movie is The Invisible Guest “Contratiempo”. When it comes to reading, I like academic articles, books about business as well as novels. My favorite writer is still Dan Brown. Nothing to do! 😊

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To live!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach : I can teach you how to make marshalling for an aircraft and many interesting things about aircrafts that you can not know as a passenger.

Learn : One of my friends taught me to open a beer by using another beer bottle. Another taught me to shake a Zubrowka bottle traditionally by using your hands, arms and head before you open it. Well, I am curious about what you will! 😊

Share : Whole thing!
