ABOUT ME

Well, while the years go by I still feel young. There are so many things to learn.
I wanted to be in business management, ended up studying physics and now work in web development. I enjoy the things I do but I am still looking forward to other things.
I live in the countryside. There are wild fields and woods all around. We get cold winters here so every year I have to go in the woods and prepare firewood. Although it's mostly a physical activity I do enjoy it as much as working with the computer. I find living and working in the countryside is beautiful and refreshing for the soul. Sometimes the simple things are the most beautiful.

I joined the Couchsurfing community in 2010 but didn't have the chance yet to really take part.

Interests

There are so many interesting things in this world - it's a pity we don't have more time! I am learning the piano, enjoy photography (when I take my camera with me).
I like to exercise, make trips through wild nature or go fishing. Running is great! It feels so good after a long run!

Music, Movies, and Books

A few years ago, just before the movies came out, I read all "The Lord of the Ring" books and I was really amazed by them. They were so interesting I couldn't put them away until the last page. Some other books I liked are "Heaven's my Destination" by Thornton Wilder and many latvian books :) Now I mostly read books about programming and web design...

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dan in Real Life, Napoleon Dynamite, Bottle Rocket, The Pursuit of Happiness, Sykt Lykellig, Crazy Stupid Love - are examples of movies that I like.

Music is one of the most beautiful things I've experienced. I used to listen a lot more music than I do today though. 3 bands I really like are U2, Coldplay and Keane. Listening to them I feel at home. I also enjoy listening to The Fray, Eels, The Cure, INXS and many others. I think that The Killers, Genesis, Jason Mraz, Sondre Lerche, Alicia Keys, Depeche Mode, Marla Glen, Reamonn, Snow Patrol, Element of Crime, Herbert Groenemeyer, Regina Spektor and Alanis Morissette have some great songs. But there are so much more... :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's those rare moments when you suddenly feel at peace and see the beauty that is all around you. That is trully amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you ever want to know something about web design, just ask. I know things about Latvia, our history, fishing possibilities in this area. Maybe I can show you one or two Latvian traditional dance moves. I don't consider myself to be an expert in more areas but you can still try me :)
