About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be so busy loving my life I have no time for hate, regret and fear.

ABOUT ME

Hello everyone!

I'm Aiste, a girl born and raised in Lithuania who decided to reach for the stars in the United Kingdom a few years ago. I have graduated from the university but I am still not sure what I want to do with my life so I'm working hard at the moment in order to earn some money and start my Nomadic Life Experience which, I believe, will help me to know myself better.
I am a travel addict! It makes me so happy and overexcited, I can't even sleep the night before I leave! I am also a big fan of Taize Community in France and I am trying to spend there some time every time I can! I officially love my family and my dog in Lithuania, even though they are miles away from me! I am also in love with nature and I do nature conservation volunteering in Sheffield.
At the moment, I am dreaming of getting a driving license, filling the truck bed with pillows and blankets and going to the middle of nowhere to do stargazing :)

PHILOSOPHY

"One life. Live it." were the words I once read on a big Cherokee Jeep that stopped in front of me and blocked my way as I was rushing to the university. Dare I say this innocent experience has changed my life: I couldn't sleep the following night thinking if I am really living my life the way I like, to the fullest. Graduating from the university, starting work, getting a mortgage for the house and a car and spending the rest of your life paying it off is assumed to be a very normal way of life by the society. But I decided that this pattern is not for me - I want so much more out of my life! Benjamin Franklin once said: "Many people die at twenty five and aren't buried until they are seventy five". I think the best way to spice up your life and stay alive is travelling. New cultures, food, music, people and sceneries blow our minds; it might even make us feel lost but "not till we are lost... do we begin to find ourselves". My intentions are to travel the globe as I feel that all the natural beauty, new cultures and experiences can help me to finally find myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to have a good laugh with comedies such as Ace Ventura, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Rush Hour or Sister Act. Emotional life changing dramas? Yes, please: Schindler's List, The Pursuit of Happiness, Horse Whisperer or Into the Wild not to mention Baraka, Laya Project or documentaries such as The Cove and Zeitgeist series.

I mostly enjoy listening to good vibes music like Jason Mraz, Paolo Nutini, Jack Johnson or UB40. I love all time classics, 1980-1990s hits, singing poetry, gipsy or native american music and world folk too! Anything really that touches my heart and soul :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was overwhelmed by the size, beauty and the majesty of High Tatras in Slovakia while hiking for the first time in my life. This experience had such a huge effect on me I'm in love with the mountains since then :)
