About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore. Understand. Discuss.

ABOUT ME

This is the difficult part, summing up every element of my personality in the confines of this little box. It will not happen, but what I can say is that like most people I have many different sides to me. I am a student of politics and economics and that comes out in conversations as I am also a student of life, and would love to learn about so many things. I love music, and should you too, I am sure we will end up having some sort of an exchange there too. Generally though, I just love meeting new people and finding out about them, and by doing so, finding out a little more about this world we all live in.

PHILOSOPHY

I stole these from Ghandi:
"Action expresses priority"
and,
"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
add those two together and we are in the perfect world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had the good fortune to be hosted by many couchsurfers, and have returned the favour openly. Although I am in school now I welcome couchsurfers provided it is not too hectic around the house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have met some of the greatest people through my travels using couchsurfing. I have been welcomed into many homes, and this has shaped my travels in a great way that would not be afforded me through any other way.

Interests

I love many things and have a variety of interests. Most recently I had my mom teach me how to knit, and over the summer I had a back yard garden. These skills I now enjoy are added to my existing interest in computers, the outdoors, reading, music, and. . . talk about it over beer? Did I mention I homebrew my beer?

  • economics

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh my, oh my, this could be a very long list, but for simplicity I should keep this short and over beer or coffee we could discuss the rest. Currently reading Salman Rushdie "Shalimar the Clown" and listening to a great experimental rock group Explosions in the Sky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got into the small city of Peja, Kosovo just two months after it had declared its independence. I was expecting to spend just a few hours there and catch the night bus out of town but it turned out that the "night bus" was in fact the "morning bus." I ended up hanging out with a local highschool kid from dusk to dawn as we wandered every part of the city exchanging stories from our childhoods, and just sharing a great time.
There have of course been many other great experiences but they are best shared over a coffee or beer.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life is all about the experience, every day in all our encounters we do all of these: teach, learn and share.
