About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I've been heavily involved in improving access to tech education and well paying tech jobs for people who historically have been excluded. If that interests you let’s jam on it!
ABOUT ME
I am a computer science professor and I direct psychometric research on how to evaluate the skills of software engineers. You can find more about me on lizthe.dev/ which will showcase my work, my art, and my music. My daughter is nearly 19 and is living with her grandmother while she goes to college, so I am free to roam.
I’m in my mid-30s but I love to go to live music, and 420 but don’t drink. I won’t smoke in your home if you don’t want me to! Just mentioning for transparency. I’ll probably go in my car if you would like me to not smoke in/around the house.
PHILOSOPHY
Empower people, love them and understand them. Listen first. Volunteer to help. Lead from the heart. Plan with your head. Listen to your gut.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a large number of students on my couch (there is always one there) but haven’t with this community before.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I’ve stayed mostly with friends, I have a rule not to overstay my welcome, so I try to only stay a few days at any one place. That way I hang out with more people!
Interests
Technology in general, making music (Lizard the Wizard on Spotify), empowering people, smashing white supremacy and the patriarchy (please don’t invite me over to argue with me about this), effective altruism, literally actually conspiring to change the world for real

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you most technical stuff. I founded a number of engineering schools. I can advise your startup or help out with tech strategy. I will not make you a website but I will help you make a plan to make one. I’ll talk to that person who you think should get into coding about getting into coding. I’ll cook gluten free food that tastes amazing. I’m nice :) and I know just about everyone in tech.
