I am a 22 year old Canadian who is backpacking around Europe. I'm outdoorsy, like 60s/70s/folksy music, local food, chocolate, and the smell of old books. I'm hoping to meet more local peoples over my travels with couch surfing, make some new friends and avoid the tourist traps.

Couchsurfing seems like such a great way to create community across great distances, which I think is super important, especially today. One of the things that frustrates me most when traveling is how easy it is to have only a superficial experience with the places you visit, and I think that getting to meet locals is the perfect antidote to that! And a fun way to meet people! And a great was to support alternative economies! And the list goes on!
