Overview
About Me
I'm a photographer (I love Travel and Portrait photography) and I enjoy exploring local places with friends (eating out in restaurants or doing outdoor activities). I'm fairly direct and I appreciate when people have the same attitude.
I prefer meaningful conversations about life and relationships and I love listening to all the astonishing, crazy or fun life stories we all had experienced at some point in life.
--
I recently did a big travel of 18 months (yes, that's 1.5 years of travel, non-stop) travelling around South and Central America, from Uruguay to Colombia, through Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala (3 months) and Mexico (5 months) then continued to California (San Diego, LA and SF): 12 countries in total and thanks to CS - I've met a lot of incredibly amazing people (local hosts and their friends) all over. I can't thank enough to this website and its users; the CS-community.
A lot of people has asked me what was the motivation behind my long travel and so there were a few reasons:
1) I got tired of working in 9-5 jobs so I saved up to quit my job and go travelling long-term
2) I wanted to take travel photos (of the local culture and people in action) to build a travel stock photography portfolio that will eventually get me published in travel magazines
Feel free to check out some of my photos via my Instagram: @ida.pap
And maybe see you in real life, too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To deep dive in local experiences, meaningful conversations and to make international friends. I've been lucky to have met some extremely kind and generous hosts and I'm so inspired that I can't wait to host travellers, too. Simple kindness tends to be so rare that when it occurs it blows our mind, but it shouldn't be that way. If we have the possibility (and abundance) to share what we have (a couch, a ride, a glass of wine or making dinner together) then why not? Making a difference in people's life is what we should all be standing for.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music. I like to listen to electronic music: house (of all kinds; deep house, tech house, minimal house, vocal house); 90's hip hop (the real legends like Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Salt n Pepa, Busta R, Mary J Blige OK well, this list is very long), Reggae and Cumbia
---
Movies. I like documentaries and thrillers, or just watch stand-ups on Youtube (my fav is Luis CK)
---
Books. I don't read often, but when I do, I read self-development / mindfulness or productivity books. Besides, I've done a few life coaching workshops myself and happy to share my experience on the subject
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've snorkelled down 8 meters underwater and saw some sharks (in Panama) and other things I can tell you when I see you :)
Teach, Learn, Share
My Friends (here) are all my Real Life Friends. Don't take it personally, but I won't add you, unless I know you :)
