About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take a walk on the wild side

ABOUT ME

I like to travel, like most of the people on couchsurfing (or so I assume). Sleeping on various couches around the globe, trying out different textures, shapes and colours. I can understand why it's called 'surfing' as it truly becomes a sport.

In april 2013 I returned from a 7 month solo-journey in New Zealand and Asia, and through couchsurfing I was able to meet some brilliant people and see some unexpected, maybe even more authentic, things and places than I probably would've.

In the summer of 2015, a friend and I traveled around California. Our mode of transport: hitchhiking. Our accommodation: a beloved tent and couchsurfing. An experience that made me truly value the couchsurfing community, was when we were stranded in a city, and it was late afternoon. We sent out emergency couchrequests, not daring to believe that anyone would reply positively. But literally 2 minutes later, a host replied saying that he would open his home to us. This simply restored my faith in humanity and couchsurfing, feeling the community love in a world that is slowly becoming more and more distanced from what really matters.

I love food, especially good vegetarian food! And I try my best to support organic and fairtrade produce (but when you're just getting by on an ordinary salary, it isn't always easy!)
I'm very passionate about film and enjoy independent cinemas with their various selection of foreign films.

PHILOSOPHY

"Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've enjoyed every single couch that I've ever surved - and in terms of hosting, I've had the privilege of giving my couch up for some amazing people.

How can I possibly choose two or three 'moments' that were some of my best?
